Are you a creator or consider yourself more creative than most?
Many of us with ADHD are naturally gifted at some form of creation. Whatever makes our brain different from the neurotypical world, it seems to unlock a key to creativity that is unmatched.
I love my creative brain. It empowers me, makes me who I am. And I don't know if I could live without it.
The Creativity of ADHD (Scientific American) specifies three aspects of creative thinking that people with ADHD exhibit additional strength at:
- Divergent thinking
- Conceptual expansion
- Overcoming knowledge constraints
So often, the studies of ADHD can focus only on the negative symptoms. It's encouraging to see that there is some science backing up some of the more positive aspects of our unique brains.

Drink more water. Dehydration is known to worsen ADHD symptoms. Keep a large bottle of water with you so you will be reminded by the constant visual.
